Mission:
“The Department of City and Regional Planning at Süleyman Demirel University aims to provide students with an education equipped with contemporary planning theory, techniques, and practices through an interdisciplinary approach, while also producing scientific knowledge through research activities. By developing collaborations and partnerships at local, national, and international levels, the department is committed to generating innovative solutions in the field of urban and regional planning and contributing to societal benefit.”
Vision:
“The Department of City and Regional Planning at Süleyman Demirel University aims to become an innovative and pioneering center for education and research that adheres to the principles of sustainable development and is recognized at the global level. The department seeks to train graduates equipped with international standards in the fields of urbanism and regional planning, contributing to the creation of just, environmentally respectful, and socially responsive cities and regions.”
SWOT Analysis
Strengths
Being located within the campus, allowing students to experience campus life
Existence of various academic commissions
Availability of indoor and outdoor faculty spaces for exhibitions
Having a 24/7 accessible workspace for students, similar to architecture departments in other universities, and establishing a “Recycling and Model Workshop” in place of the vacated computer lab for reusing model materials

Preparation of project-based coursework that develops solutions to improve urban life quality in the region

Lack of sufficient space for research, project, model, and photography workshops and for permanent exhibitions
