About Us

The Department of City and Regional Planning at Süleyman Demirel University (SDU) was established in 2004 within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and was transferred to the Faculty of Architecture in 2012 following the separation of the Engineering and Architecture faculties. The undergraduate program consists of a 4-year education period (theoretical + practical, 8 semesters) plus an optional 1-year English preparatory class. The curriculum includes compulsory courses, elective courses, and design studio courses. Students who successfully complete a total of 240 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits (156 local credits), along with the required internships, and meet the graduation requirements specified in the University’s Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education and Examination Regulations, are awarded the title of City and Regional Planner. Graduates of the program can work as Urban Planners in both the public and private sectors. In the public sector, city and regional planners serve at various administrative levels—from ministries to local municipalities. In the private sector, they can work in planning offices, real estate appraisal companies, industrial organizations, banks, and investment firms, or establish their own planning consultancies.
