Industrial Design

The Industrial Design Department is a profession that emerged to train industrial product designers who are competent, creative, entrepreneurial and leaders in design skills, who design and develop innovative, useful, safe, aesthetically appropriate, socially and culturally sensitive products that integrate the concepts of function, form, identity and value and enable them to be transformed into mass production in a way that will be beneficial to society, consumers and producers, and who aim to use design information and technologies correctly within the framework of professional ethics and environmental sensitivity. In this context, the mission of the department is to train students who can primarily conduct research and development in industrial and research institutions by taking into account national requirements and international developments, who can successfully take part in design, production and application studies; who design new products and systems by considering the common benefit of all stakeholders in the production, marketing and usage processes within the framework of professional, ethical and environmental sensitivity, and as a department, to produce solutions to the problems of the national industry by taking part in research that provides scientific/academic knowledge and technology production at national and international levels, and to contribute to the needs of the country by developing product design and development with innovative approaches.
