Faculty Mission (Duties)
Duties and actions for the future within the framework of the target and vision envisaged in our faculty.
- To establish a healthy communication, a happy and peaceful environment within the departments,
- To ensure participation in horizontal and vertical processes,
- To ensure the fulfillment of all duties and responsibilities assigned to academic and administrative staff within the framework of the legislation,
- To provide and develop student-centered education and training,
- To maximize social, cultural and artistic activities,

Faculty Vision (Objectives)
1. Institutionalization
- To ensure the continuity of all kinds of work and activities in the system without interruption,
- To make sustainable a transparent, auditable and participatory management approach for the effective, economical and efficient use of resources,
- To complete the infrastructure deficiencies and to use the existing infrastructure effectively,
- To preserve corporate memory and improve corporate identity,
- To produce the most ideal (most appropriate) solutions and decisions with common mind,
- To be equal and fair to everyone,
- To maximize participation and responsibility awareness,

2. Quality and Efficiency
- To be in a recognizable, leading, effective and competent position in undergraduate and graduate education, teaching, scientific research and applications at international and national level,
- To participate in and complete the National and International accreditation process in line with the University's Quality Assurance System and its principles,
- To create and develop an innovative and student-oriented education and training program, to increase the use of technology, productivity, quality and ensuring its continuity,by developing new methods in education,
- To train building architect, landscape architect, city and regional planner, interior designer and industrial product designer who have the knowledge to develop new environmentally sensitive visions, who have advanced communication skills, who seek alternative solutions with a participatory approach, who are prone to interdisciplinary work, who are questioning, who can analyze, who produce the most appropriate solutions and who can improve themselves through innovations, who can take responsibility for implementation,
- To produce, use and spread new information and technologies by increasing the competencies of academic and administrative staff,
- To ensure the integrity of cooperation, sharing and harmony in education, training, scientific research and applications in the Faculty,

Faculty History
Isparta Engineering and Architecture Faculty has been established as the “Isparta State Engineering Architecture Academy” according to Act No: 1418 on 21 February 1976 and started education in the 1976-1977 academic year together with the Departments of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Gülkent Secondary School of the Ministry of Education. The Academy is annexed to Antalya Akdeniz University by the Decision at the Law Degree No: 41 dated 20 July 1982 as an addition to Higher Education Act No: 2547 and is named as “Isparta Engineering Faculty”.
On 11 July 1992, by the Act No: 3837 the Faculty is bound to the newly established Süleyman Demirel University and continued its educational activities under the heading of “Engineering -Architecture Faculty”. By the Decision of the Higher Education Council dated 28 December 1993 Departments of Architecture, Textile Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering are established. Department of Architecture has started its educational activities in the 1995-1996 Academic year under the Faculty of Engineering-Architecture with 30 students.
In the year 1992 according to the same Act, Departments of Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering and City and Regional Planning were also established. Among these Departments first students are accepted to the Department of City and Regional Planning in the 2005-2006 Academic year.
By the official letter of the Ministry of Education dated 23 January 2012 and No: 1854 and, decision of the Council of Ministers according to the additional article No: 30 of the Act No: 2809 dated 03 February 2012, which is published in the Official Gazette on 08 March 2012 and No: 28227, Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture is separated and the Faculty of Architecture is established.
Proposal on the restructuring departments and scientific fields of the Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Architecture is evaluated by the Higher Education Management Council during the meeting held on 18 April 2012 and according to article 7/d-2 of the Act No: 2547 that is annulled by the Act No 2880, establishment of the Faculty and its departments and major science fields mentioned below is found proper:
- Department of Architecture: Building Design and Theory, Building Science and Technology, History of Architecture, Restoration Major Science Fields
- Department of City and Regional Planning: City Planning, Regional Planning Major Science Fields
- Department of Industrial Design: Industrial Design Major Science Field.
There are 5 Departments within the main body of the Faculty of Architecture:
1. Department of Architecture,
2. Department of City and Regional Planning,
3. Department of Landscape Architecture,
4. Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (Bachelor and Master Degree Education Programs are not currently accepting students),
5. Department of Industrial Design (Bachelor and Master Degree Academic Programs are not currently accepting students).
