A “Overcoming Barriers" Talk Was Held with PEKSEM General Manager and Artist Seyfettin IŞIK

Seyfettin IŞIK, General Director of the Positive Barrier-Free Arts Community (PEKSEM) and an artist, met with our faculty’s students and staff with his inspiring talk titled “Overcoming Barriers”. IŞIK, expressed in strong terms that the perception toward individuals with disabilities needs to change, emphasizing how primitive and limiting it is to define people by their physical characteristics. He stated that the real barrier does not exist in bodies but in perspectives and hearts, and noted that being visible and showing presence with courage can create significant awareness in society.

IŞIK spoke sincerely about how every moment in which individuals with and without disabilities create together breaks down the invisible walls between them. The talk concluded with a warm question-and-answer session, leaving the hall filled with an atmosphere of hope, awareness, and inspiration.
