Book by Faculty Members of the Department of Architecture: “In Pursuit of Traces: Routes of Urban Space, Place and Interaction”

During the 2025–2026 academic year, the work carried out by the graduates of the 1st Section of the Department of Architecture and the instructors of MİM/ARCH 402 Diploma Project – Section 1 has been compiled into a book titled In Pursuit of Traces: Routes of Urban Space, Place and Interaction. The book was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Şefika Gülin Beyhan, Dr. Gamze Akyol Selek, Architect Kıymet Başaranoğlu, and Research Assistant Feyza Demirkıran.

Prepared as part of MİM/ARCH 402 Diploma Project, the study explores an original studio experience that brings together the concepts of urban identity, urban memory, and the spirit of place with architectural education. The book examines the interaction between the city, its users, and space through students’ relationships with the city, their ways of experiencing space, and their design processes.

 

 

 

In Pursuit of Traces: Routes of Urban Space, Place and Interaction stands out as a valuable work that brings together architectural education and urban experience, transforming the knowledge and experiences gained by students throughout their academic education into a meaningful and high-quality outcome. We congratulate our faculty members and graduates who contributed to this work and wish them continued success. The book’s editors presented a copy of the book to our Faculty Dean and Vice Dean.
