The Cooperation Protocol For The “Barrier-Free Isparta” Project Was Signed.
Our Faculty of Architecture faculty member, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda ŞİMŞEK, and her students presented the outcomes of a collaborative project conducted with the Six Dots Blind Association as part of the Project 3 course. The works were exhibited in the exhibition titled “Barrier-Free Experience of Space”, and subsequently, our faculty implemented the first step of innovative applications that include the “Architectural Description of Space” through QR codes.The prepared QR codes are planned to be placed in designated areas and expanded across our University and the city.
On February 27, 2026, with the participation of Isparta Governor Abdullah ERİN, Süleyman Demirel University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet SALTAN, Provincial Special Administration General Secretary Av. Abdullah ÇELİK, and President of the Six Dots Blind Association Isparta Branch İsmail ER, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Isparta Provincial Special Administration, the Six Dots Blind Association Isparta Branch, and Süleyman Demirel University. The protocol establishes the “Barrier-Free Isparta” project, which will enable visually impaired citizens to carry out their procedures in public institutions and organizations independently, using a voice navigation system.

In addition, Head Teacher Mehmet SERBIÇAK, Agricultural Engineer Erman GÜNDOĞDU, and Electrical Technician Furkan ÖRENÇ from the Isparta Special Provincial Administration Directorate visited our faculty to exchange views on the project, and joint efforts were planned to expand the implementation.

This initiative, implemented by the Faculty of Architecture of Süleyman Demirel University, is regarded as an important step toward enhancing accessibility for individuals with disabilities both at our University and in our city.
